The West Virginia Landlords Association (WVLA) is a non-profit organization that unites people involved in the ownership, management and operation of residential and commercial properties to promote professionalism, education and equity in all aspects of the rental property business for the benefit of industry members and their customers.

Who We Are

WVLA is directed by non-paid volunteer elected officers and Board of Directors whose main purpose is to direct WVLA’s activities and encourage growth of the organization.   We have a highly active group of committees and volunteers who assist in our operations and growth of our organization. We are brought together by similar goals and concerns.

We are an association made up of owners, managers and companies that service rental property around the state.

We are an association with members representing thousands of individual rental units in West Virginia .

We are an organization of dedicated members that understand the value and importance of representing rental property owners and managers locally through a strong chapter and state-wide organizations of chapters and members.

Our Goals

To assist all West Virginia Landlords to network together, to be recognized and sought after for advice on landlord / tenant issues by governing bodies that is backed by our payment of millions of dollars in property and business taxes, utility taxes and related services through our members annually.   We will use our influence to:

Assist in reviewing and amending current Landlord – Tenant legislation as necessary.

Recommend and assist in writing new legislation that provides greater fairness in taxation and representation.

Be recognized by all levels of government as THE source of insight and feedback on  issues facing the residential housing industry.

Be the voice of small property owners.

Provide education related to all aspects of providing rental housing.

Promote sound, ethical business practices within the rental industry

Our Future

Depends on the strength of our organizations’ membership and the leadership of  your elected directors and officers.   We have grown tremendously since our recent beginning and will continue to grow with our current founding members charting our path.   There is a need for new members to become involved in the organization operations as board members to provide direction and ideas for growth and development well into the future.

We hope all landlords will consider joining a local chapter, helping with meetings or participating as board members or officers at the chapter or state level and in the organization to provide new insight and value to our organization and it’s members.
